Ambience is great and the staff is above average! We went with a party of over 11 ruckus individuals looking to have a good time and the service matched our energy level. The food was tasty and the mixed drinks just right. I give it four stars because I am not into fusion cooking. I like my lechón the traditional way and my empanadas too.

Food is delicious and plentiful! Live music starts earlier than the norm which is also nice. Service was good. Will be back!

Nestled along 87th Avenue in Doral, La Matriarca stands as a vibrant import from its parent restaurant in Medellin, Colombia. A fusion of Nuevo Colombian and Peruvian cuisines, La Matriarca tantalizes taste buds with an array of flavors that pay homage to South American culinary traditions. Our culinary journey at La Matriarca commenced with a tantalizing starter of Colombian sausage, accompanied by fluffy arepas and hogao, a savory tomato-based sauce. The marriage of flavors was a delightful prelude to the main event. The pièce de résistance, the Tocino al Cajón, stole the show with its succulent cut of pork, seasoned with traditional herbs and spices, boasting a crispy skin that added a delightful crunch to each bite. The dish was generously portioned, perfect for sharing, and complemented by sides of lulo mayonnaise, showcasing the exotic citrusy and sour notes of the South American fruit, alongside perfectly cooked small potatoes. However, our culinary voyage hit a slight snag as the dishes arrived at a lukewarm temperature, failing to capture the warmth and freshness expected from such delectable fare. Additionally, service seemed to lag behind, with requests for simple items such as a straw taking longer than anticipated. Despite these minor hiccups, La Matriarca's ambiance is undeniably alluring, with tasteful decor that transports diners to the heart of South America. However, the acoustical design of the venue leaves much to be desired, as conversations quickly escalate into a cacophony of noise, exacerbated by lively live music performances that, while entertaining, contribute to the overall din. In summary, La Matriarca offers a tantalizing culinary journey through the flavors of Colombia and Peru, with standout dishes like the Tocino al Cajón showcasing the kitchen's skill and creativity. However, improvements in temperature control and service efficiency would elevate the dining experience to match the restaurant's vibrant ambiance and lively atmosphere.

I found this new Colombian spot in Doral, they opened 2 months ago. It is a large place, nicely decorated, what a nice surprise when I tried this new spot, delicious and huge portions. Great atmosphere, and they have huge parking. As soon as you arrive you are welcomed by the hostess and directed to your table, our waitress was very attentive, great attitude, and great service. They have a full bar and nice cocktails, the only issue was the time to receive our drinks, they arrived when we were finishing the appetizers. We had conchitas campesinas, delicious fried plantain filled with pulled beef cooked in tomato sauce, an excellent appetizer. Then we had the special mondongo and tenderloin in pepper sauce, both entrees were superb. No room for desserts.
